RESTON, Va., Sept. 28 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Convergence Technologies (USA),
LLC today responded to the decision given by the Taiwanese Court in
regards to the infringement lawsuit filed against Taiwan Microloops
Corporation.

| In 2008, Convergence attempted to protect endusers by limiting the patent
infringement lawsuit against Taiwan Microloops Corporation to only Taiwan
despite its reputation in patent protection. In an unsurprising ruling
given on September 7th of 2009, the Taiwan court, after only two hours of
validity hearing, sided with Microloops and summarily dismissed all 26
relevant claims with a simple assertion that the two patents lacked
novelty and inventiveness. This is despite the fact that the court knew
about the recent allowance of a third patent in Taiwan from the same
technology, and that Patent Offices from around the world, including that
of the United States have approved the same patent despite having been
presented the exact same prior arts that Microloops used in their validity
challenge.

| "The speed and nonchalance of the court's actions indicate a direct
challenge to the authority and competence of their own patent office, and
so we see again that the level of patent protection is not the same in
Taiwan as say the United States," said Dr. Steven H. Lee, Founding

predatory pricing against us, and has during the trial refused to even
admit ownership of the alleged infringing products, we now find ourselves
in the reluctant position of having to take actions in a western
jurisdiction, which in many cases would have to include the endusers since
Microloops does not have a legal presence in these jurisdictions and
'constructive notice' has already been served with the shipment of our
products early this year bearing the relevant patent numbers. We are
